The versatile and innovative musical style of the Buddy Emmer Band (formerly known as Madison Avenue) has been a welcomed addition to the Reno and Lake Tahoe area for the past 10 years. The group consists of five multi-talented musicians whose expanding musical versatility has led to their widely accepted success.
The Buddy Emmer Band members combine their world class musical talents to become one of the most versatile bands Nevada has to offer.
BUDDY EMMER- Guitar, Vocals, Harmonica
Buddy Emmer is a native Texan from Dallas who plays a wide ranging number of styles from jazz to rock to blues to country and reggae. He is probably most well known for his blues work and has performed with such noted talents as Greg Allman, Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson. In the studio Buddy has laid down chops with Jerry LaCroix (former lead singer for the Edgar Winter Band) and Mike Love of the Beach Boys. Buddy’s searing guitar, voice and smokin’ harmonica riffs are sure to rock any crowd.
KIM EMMER – Vocals, Rhythm Guitar
Kim Emmer’s musical roots extend back to her days in southern California. Her very first recording session was for Michael Sembello. She has recorded and performed with such artists as Branscomb Richmond, Kevin Anthony, songwriter Lane Caudell and Michael Goulet. Kim’s talents also extend to theatre, performing with the Conejo Players, Cabrillo Music Theatre, Anita Mann Productions and Pro Voce, an opera performance company. Her incredible vocal range extends from high energy and soulful rock to soaring melodies that will make your heart melt.
HANK SPECE- Keyboards, Vocals
Hank Spece is a native of Sacramento California who mastered his dazzling keyboard skills in the Northern California club circuit. His style ranges from that funky Hammond B-3 sound to angelic synthesized fills. Hank is a real pleasure to watch and listen to especially when he and Buddy are trading fills.
DARREN HAND- Bass, Vocals
Darren has lived in the Reno area for some time playing in original bands. His “solid as a rock” bass and exceptional background and lead vocals make him a great asset to our fulltime band….so we got him to join us and quit his day job!!
DAVE HERZER- Drums, Vocals
Dave Herzer is the newest member of the band. Long known as an exceptional studio musician, he’s also been the top guy in the area to call when you need a drummer. His versatility as well as backup and lead vocals, make him a perfect addition to the band.
