Throughout rock-n-roll’s diverse history, there is one group that has risen above the rest,
and to this day, remains one of the most influential, inspiring, and popular groups of all
time - Led Zeppelin. In February 1969, Led Zeppelin released their first album and, in less
than two months, this album reached the Billboard Top 10 list. Since that first release, five
of the group’s LP’s reached number one and every album released has attained platinum
status, with world-wide sales of over 100,000,000 records to date. Led Zeppelin’s 1973
U.S. tour also broke all box office records throughout the country (many of which had
been set by the Beatles), and by 1975, the group’s immense ticket and album sales
established them as the most popular rock-n-roll group in the world.
Recently, VH-1
conducted a nation-wide call-in survey on their program the List to find out who
their fans thought was the greatest rock-n-roll band and what was the greatest
rock song of all time. The final tally of the votes resulted in Led Zeppelin as being
the 2nd best band (just slightly behind the Beatles), and “Stairway to Heaven”
being the Number 1 rock song of all time. VH-1 ‘s fans also voted in three more Led
Zeppelin songs for the show’s top-ten song list.
Nearly two decades have passed since the demise of Led Zeppelin, and their
music remains as popular today as it was in the 70’s when they reigned as the
world’s greatest touring attraction. Led Zeppelin’s last concert tour was in 1980,
due to the unfortunate and untimely death of their drummer, John Bonham. This
left an incredible void in the music world that would never have been filled if not
for Heartbreaker, the greatest Led Zeppelin tribute ever to grace the stage.
Heartbreaker is a group of four extremely talented and seasoned musicians who,
because of their love of the music, are able to capture the essence and sound of
Led Zeppelin’s music, note for note, live on stage.
There is no need for Heartbreaker to hire extra musicians, or to use computer or tapes to recreate this music. That
would be cheating their audiences. Heartbreaker plays everything live, the way
it should be. Also, the group’s approach to the music is extraordinary. They don’t
merely learn a song, they truly study it. Heartbreaker believes that although
almost any band can learn how to play a Led Zeppelin song, it takes a high quality
of musicianship and talent do it tastefully right, with class and integrity. This means
an intense focus and attention to detail - every harmony, every chord inversion,
every musical part has to be there. The sum of all these elements is that you have
nothing less than the greatest Led Zeppelin experience anyone can hope for.
Not
only has Heartbreaker perfected the sound of Led Zeppelin, but they have the
image, look, and stage persona that leave even the most die hard Led Zeppelin fan
awe struck.
